Waldorf Toyota is proud to announce a contribution made to the Charles County Sherriff’s Office in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics that occurred on Thursday, June 9, 2016, to benefit Special Olympics Maryland.
Waldorf Toyota made a donation of $2,000.00 to support the organization, particularly to honor a 9-year old boy, Anthony “Stormie” Zanfordino, who participated in the Torch Run and ended the run with a “Superman” pose.
Employees of Waldorf Toyota were given 2016 Torch Run t-shirts and hats to wear to work on Thursday, June 9, and posed for a photo at the time of the event, holding the “Superman” pose in honor of Stormie.
Special Olympics Maryland is an international non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition. Special Olympics Maryland offers children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition in 30 Olympic-type summer and winter sports.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office is a full-service law enforcement agency responsible for preventing and investigating crime, operating the county detention center and performing the court-related functions of a traditional sheriff’s office.
